Following his official visit to Japan, Czech President Petr Pavel made a private trip to India to personally congratulate the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday. The celebration took place at the Tsuklakhang Temple in Dharamsala, where the spiritual leader marked this milestone with friends and well-wishers.
President Pavel was accompanied by Czech Ambassador to India Eliška Žigová. The Chinese Embassy in Prague expressed strong concern over the meeting, citing its stance on the “One China” policy. The Czech presidency emphasized that the visit was strictly private and not part of Pavel’s official program.
