The renovation of the Polish Cultural and Educational Union’s Polish House in Karviná-Raj, carried out in 2021, 2022, and 2024 with co-financing from Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the “Cooperation with the Polish Community Abroad – Polish Infrastructure” program, has been successfully completed.
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the renovated Polish House was officially opened. The ceremony was attended by Rafał Perl (second from left of the photo), Deputy Director of the Department of Cooperation with the Polish Community Abroad; Małgorzata Michalczyk, Head of the Infrastructure Grants Division; Stanisław Bogowski (in grey suit), Consul General of Poland in Ostrava; Radek Podstawka, Vice-Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region (first on the left of the photo); Jan Wolf (first from the right), Mayor of Karviná; Andrzej Bizoń, Deputy Mayor of Karviná; Helena Legowicz, President of the Main Board of PZKO; and Daniel Jakubczyk, Mayor of Gorzyce.
